Early morning rambling..
May. 30th, 2005 08:29 amI'm up. Somewhat. I was supposed to be out the door after I got home from Wethersfield last night... but I went upstairs to my parents' room in an empty house and started petting Mischief. I lay down while petting said cat, and she curled into a ball just inside my thigh. I closed my eyes. I woke again sometime around 11 and decided "to hell with it", that I was far too tired to be driving, since I'd been falling asleep slowly during the very short drive from Wethersfield to Manchester, and I could just get up reasonably early and meet up with everyone in Northampton.
The recital ended up going very well, despite some lighting glitches that were well beyond my control, thank you overheating dimmer bay. Apparently as long as the doors were open, the bay was fine. The minute those doors closed again, the lights would randomly cut out completely for a second or two, with the exception of the rented dimmer packs to power the zip strips in the back washing onto the cyc. So at least these random outages looked nicely dramatic, but at the completely wrong time. *sigh*
The client was happy with my work, going so far as to exclaim that they never want to do another show without me. I guess I'm booked into the far future. :)
Had a hard time falling back asleep last night.. my sister came in arguing with Raph, not knowing I was here... I came downstairs to get a glass of juice or something, opened the refrigerator, and was greeted by a dead lobster, staring at me from where the juice should have been. My father bought them to cook for friends today.. only he bought them on Friday night. They have all died since then, and I'm told that dead lobster doesn't taste particularly good when you finally cook it. I'm also partially horrified that these poor creatures have been sitting in a dark cooler or refrigerator for 3 days, dying slowly. I know, I'm far too sensitive, but the whole thing gives me deep willies.
My car is still producing too much heat in a short period of time, and smells rather like antifreeze. I'm going to attempt to drive it up to Noho now, after packing all his computer apparatus up, and we'll see how it goes. Perhaps we will all go out to Six Flags this morning, I don't know what's going on, really... I never was able to get in touch with J last night, just left messages on the cell, since the house number doesn't live anywhere near my head. Rollercoasters right now seem like a bad idea, with the way my head feels, but I may be persuaded otherwise. *shrug*
Later.
-Me.
