Singing into heart space..
Oct. 6th, 2008 03:41 pmSaturday's craft fair involved sitting in the parking lot spinning all afternoon, talking with people and giving away lots of business cards, but no sales, which was a bit disappointing. The backs of my hands got a bit sunburnt above where my long sleeves ended, and I am definitely looking into getting one of the tents that most of the other vendors had.
Sunday found me at a kirtan in southern CT at a lovely home/studio that was literally in the middle of the woods at the end of a cul-de-sac with no sign. Having gotten a bit lost on the way, I was really glad just to have found the place, and the community there was wonderful.
Spent the night at my friend Dave's house in Thomaston, spinning in front of the wood stove and listening to kirtan playing quietly while he was studying. Being back in my family home makes me appreciate the time I get to spend in incense-friendly spaces that much more.
Tuesday will find me up in Northampton for the evening to attend the weekly kirtan at Karuna, and this weekend I'll be in teacher training from Friday to Sunday night, which I'm really looking forward to.
Later.

To the eye is sometimes given
a glimpse of vast beauties, a taste of perfection.
But only enough to leave the heart impossibly lonely.
