Boxes in the mail...
Oct. 18th, 2006 06:03 pmThe UPS guy got us out of bed by knocking on the door just past noon with some boxes for me. If I have to get up, it's nice to do so when stuff for you shows up. *grin*
One box contained the over-knee Wonder Woman boots for this year's costume, and the other was a box from Webs with a pound of soy silk that I'm looking forward to spinning and a pound of domestic wool, which I will try my hand at dyeing sometime soon.
The boots are awesome and also completely deadly. I'm going to have to make sure I wear wool socks with them, or they'll chew up my feet. The platform on the front part is about 2 inches, to accommodate the 5-inch heel. Eep. The white striping and top edge looks great, and I hope they'll last longer than my first attempt at boots to go with the costume. These are a lot sexier and a bit higher than costume accurate, but that's close enough for me right now.
We're still waiting for both of our actual costumes to show up.. Henri's going as V from V For Vendetta, which should be here within another few days, and mine got here and got sent back, since part of the bodice wasn't stitched up properly. So, boxes are still being awaited.
Time to wake the cute boy up from his nap and go off to Whole Foods in search of groceries.
