Dancing to the Cure...
Oct. 8th, 2006 05:17 pmCheck this out: I'm left wondering why Republicans can defend this president at all anymore, after time and time again, the web of lies that surrounds him becomes blatantly obvious. Keith Olbermann on Bush's Lies, Part 1
Yesterday was lovely. We went out to take more pictures of the pumpkins in the morning, and ended up with a few Xmas ideas. Came back here and got some spinning done while Henri read about ants, and then we ventured out to San Francisco, where a nightclub was having a Cure tribute. I was pleased enough that it was easy to get to and there was parking right nearby, and the place was pretty cool overall. I got handed a ticket when we went in, meaning I was eligible to win a door prize, and when they called us up, it was to give us a little set of Cure trivia questions. The upstairs area was roped off, and we hung out up there while we waited for the results, looking down on the teeming masses dancing below in the blacklight. Turns out, being really nerdy pays off, and we won the 2006 Goth Box compilation and a pair of early Siouxsie and the Banshees discs, and I asked the DJ if we could keep hanging out upstairs, which he said was fine, so for the rest of the evening we got to be VIPs, dancing in a cool and spacious area upstairs while the rest of the club got hotter and more crowded. Pretty cool way to begin to celebrate our anniversary.
Today's been pretty low-key. Woke up when Chris called, and we talked for a good long while.. I miss home, and it was nice to check in. Now I have more ideas for this week's continued job search process. Henri's finishing his reading and then probably going to do some yoga, and I'll make something for dinner in another hour or so.
Later.
