Back in the land of communications..
Sep. 1st, 2006 05:16 pmWe did indeed get internet back on Sunday this past week, and we're quietly starting to get back into the usual routine of checking LJ and reading webcomics and such.
We've gotten the livingroom mostly unpacked, and we started getting books onto the shelves in the study last night and well into this morning. We've stayed pretty nocturnal, getting up around 3 and running errands, then coming back here to have lunch/dinner and get stuff done. I know we'll have to go back to a slightly more regular schedule by the end of September, when Henri starts school and I start working again, but in the meanwhile I'm really enjoying it.
It's been a very long time since I've had time off like this, time to reorganize all my stuff, and cook excellent meals, and hang out reading books to each other. Henri's reading me The Hobbit, and I'm reading The Vampire Lestat to him. *grin*
We haven't done much exploring outside of the Palo Alto area yet, and with part of the Bay bridge closed down over the Labor Day holiday, we'll probably stay put here until next week, then go adventuring once the apartment looks presentable. After all, Henri's parents are going to come out and visit us before he starts classes, and I'd like the place to at least look good for them.
Later.
