The taste of crazy..
Aug. 3rd, 2006 03:57 amWe managed to power through most of the packing in Boston, and we crept down to Northampton at about 4am on Tuesday. Took a day to rest and regain some sanity, and get erranding done. The U-Haul place in Cambridge had run completely out of boxes by Sunday, so we did what we could, and brought some of the things that wouldn't fit here to get packed in with my stuff.
Stopped by pagan potluck tonight, which was really nice, and the lentil dish Henri and I made seemed to go over well. It was also great to hang out with cool people and have a great dinner with a minimum of working over a hot stove. I was so very glad to see the thunderstorm sweeping through to break the muggy heat, even just a bit.
We've been avoiding the heat of day by becoming nocturnal.. in that I keep my usual 4am bedtime, and Henri's been gracious enough to join me in it. We get up, run errands, eat, pack a bit, then chill for a bit, then pack more enthusiastically after J&A have gone to sleep. Got about 8 boxes packed today, hopefully I'll get even more done tomorrow.
Friday we bring the car in to get looked at, and run more errands, and pack like crazy. Saturday afternoon we'll head out to Meat Fest, and then get as much packing and sorting done as possible.. I want us to be done with packing things by Tuesday morning, so we'll have a day to chill out a bit before we leave, or at the very least not be putting things in boxes anymore.
