My baby's gone. They came this morning to take my lovely old green Escort away, as I donated her to the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. I had enough time to pull the majority of the nifty stickers off of her and put them into a scrapbook before they loaded her onto the truck. I put over 100,000 miles on that car in the 5 years I had her... I might as well have lived in her. Goodbye, trusty car... I will miss you.
Spent a really pleasant and relaxing evening last night with Jesse watching Siegfried from the 1976 Bayreuth production of Wagner's the Ring of the Niebelung. Pizza, beer, wine and a selection of goat cheeses to accompany. Yum.
Today, I repack all the glassware and dishes that have been sitting in boxes since I brought them here from Sunderland.. got to make sure everything is really well cushioned for the trip cross-country so I don't open a box full of broken glass in Palo Alto.
