All we had when I was growing up for a video game system in the house was a Mattel Intellivision.. which still works, I might add. I might get geek points for that, but I don't know. Mom didn't want us spending time glued to a screen, so when the Nintendo system came out, there was no way she'd get it for us. I had to wait until high school to hang out as Matt and Dan and Mike played hour after hour of Super Metroid and Legend of Zelda. We played a ton of Super Mario Kart together, and then all bought an N64 as soon as it came out so the 4 of us could play together instead of having to switch off all the time.
There's a Playstation around now, keeping my SNES company.. nice to get to sit with others around playing games, and it's been nifty watching my housemate playing Kingdom Hearts as I've run around to and from work. I was reminded this weekend just how much I love Tetris. *smile*

I caught a bit of a head cold on Friday, which has settled comfortably into my lungs, nesting despite all my eviction notices. Even so, I've had a good weekend, chilling out and convalescing with videogames and movies.
As of today, I've been working at the co-op for 3 years. Wow. Even through the moving around, the community there has been the reason I go to work every day. Trying though retail can sometimes be, I'm glad for the place I have there. If I couldn't be here in the valley, I'd be back in southern VT.
We'll see where the whims of time and chance send me outwards in the years to come.

My thanks to the friends that have so graciously braved my company and been really supportive these past few days as I've been coughing all the time. :)

Time to roll over with Rumi and get some good sleep.

Later.

It's a habit of yours to walk slowly.
You hold a grudge for years.
With such heaviness, how can you be modest?
With such attachments, do you expect to arrive anywhere?

Be wide as the air to learn a secret.
Right now you're equal portions clay
and water, thick mud.

You are so weak. Give up to grace.
The ocean takes care of each wave
till it gets to shore.
You need more help than you know.
