Decisions, decisions...
Dec. 28th, 2003 03:11 amHmm.. my father took me over to the apartment down the street that he's been renovating for the past month.. my parents lived there for 8 years, and bought the house down the street that I grew up in when I was 4. The owner wants to rent it out again for next month, and my parents are willing to help me out a lot if I want to move in, like paying the deposit, helping me move and get some bills paid, since paying for the car has put me in such a hole.
There seem to be reasons both to move into this new space, and to stay where I am in Brattleboro.
I almost can't decide which way to turn. My roomate moves out the second week of Jan. or so, and my lease in VT ends in May. Jesse will be heading out in April to go cross-country with Ian, and though I'd love to go with them, I can't.
I think I'll talk to my landlady and see what she's willing to do. If she can lower things to accomodate the fact that I'll be the only person paying the rent, then it makes some sense to stay. If not, then I'll be paying less for more space in CT, so I might as well take the opportunity and accept the help that's being offered to me and move. I can take classes at MCC, and if I wanted to keep up with Japanese via UMASS, the commute from Manchester's exactly the same as the one I've been making from Brattleboro. I can also keep my job at the co-op for a while, and see if there is a comparable position at the Willimantic co-op down in CT.. not to mention a greater opportunity for tech freelancing work. Stayng in Bratt. poses chalenges, as does leaving.. no matter what, as long as I have mobility the trip back and forth isn't really an issue. We'll see what comes out of things this next week. I'll have conversations about it with J and my friends and see what I end up deciding to do.
..And things keep moving, never staying the same for very long at all..
Later.
