Dec. 7th, 2003 10:20 pm*sigh* I've been realising of late how easy it is to make me rather happy. My best friend brought me a rose at work.. made my night. A good hug, a thoughtful word, an email from a beloved friend... all give me the warm fuzzies, and that's really all I ever could want. Women who require expensive maintenance.. I just don't get it. Emotional and physical maintenance is cheap and much more fun and rewarding. :)
Aanyway.. Just got home from work.. The roads are mostly passable up here, pretty good since we got 2 feet of snow dumped on us yesterday. :) It was very pretty, but not all that much fun to walk in when I went downtown to do the radio show. Aforementioned best friend came over and braved the blizzardness to hang out and watch a bit of the Beatles Anthology and The Women. The Women was really interesting.. film from 1939, no men in the entire thing, but that's what the film circles around. Men cheating on their wives, getting rid of them with money, and reconciling with them. All the unavoidable complexities of relationships. .. sounds familiar. :P
Heard from J a few times these past few days.. he's on his way home on a bus right now, heading for New Jersey. We'll see how things go when he gets home. Always bound to be interesting. I don't mind having him around, but I'm not getting back on an emotional rollercoaster right now. I'll see how much time and love can heal the both of us, and whether or not we have anything left to give each other. I can only wait and see, and heal my life in the meanwhile while he goes off and grows up.
Tonight I have a good book to finish reading for my Japanese class, and there is avocado and makings for my signature dip of doom.. that and a pot of tea seem in order. If I'm still awake in an hour or two, after all the shoveling this afternoon and this evening to get my car out and then back in.. maybe I'll watch some of the anime I've just started on.. X. Apocalyptic heaven/hell battle type stuff, guys with cool powers, really nicely androgynous character designs.. :) Mmmm...
