Hanging out in Amherst with Sam & James tonight, recuperating after a wonderful gathering at my place and a very interesting night at Chris' yearly holiday bash. Many conversations, some more productive and pleasant than others, but all was awesome.
I've at least been reminded why I do not choose to own a gun, though I support the concept of responsible ownership. *sigh*

Sam's weaving project is teh awesome.

The car we rented turned out to be a luxury sedan at the cost of a regular, because all the other cars were out. Pretty nifty, but I wouldn't want to own one. I still can't escape the Xmas music all over the radio, and there's no place to plug in the iPod.

Congratulations to my sister on her 21st birthday yesterday.. our afternoon breakfast was lovely.

Long story best summed up by saying that a lot of Chris' party was spent in argumentative discussion with a gun nut.

Hm. "Gun nut" can mean a lot of things. Usually I get that feel from someone with a low frustration threshold, whose frustration with violations of the Second Amendment have reached Bad Experience In Childhood proportions, and the argumentative discussions come about when they lock horns with someone whose hoplophobia (fueled by a sensationalist media and perhaps negative personal experience) has reached similarly BEIC levels, and they have both been driven to panic that "the other side" will "win".
