Wow... I feel like a stranger here..
Nov. 9th, 2003 12:00 amSo.. it's been a ridiculous amount of time since I wrote in this thingy.. and now might not actually be the best time to do so, since I'm on my second glass of good red wine, and my brain is less than competent to be typing. *shrug*
Spur of the moment updating, I guess.
For those of you who have not been privy to my life since my last entry, um.. last June.. *sigh* .. a lot has happened. No, really. I got engaged in October, on Halloween morning in the cemetery. :)
Jesse and I determined that we were no longer engaged but still together just after we hit the "one year together" mark in June of 2003, and we've lost more and more of the good stuff in the months since then... so we're taking an extended break from each other at the moment, and I'm taking a break from "serious relationships" in general for a while.
(Everyone who has known me for more than 2 years is cheering in the background.)
Right now, I'm happy that I've finally cleaned my apartment thoroughly for the first time in months, and I'm continuing my renewal of Japanese cultural and language studies. Not to mention doing some of that "figuring myself out" work that I should have done after I left Marlboro back in 2000. (Friends who know are giggling agreement behind me in a decidedly "we told you so, but you just didn't listen" manner.)
All right. Yes, I'm an idiot. There. I said it. Happy?
:)
Goals for the moment: Repair some of the bridges I've burned too hastily, reconnect with friends that I've been neglecting for a year, and prepare myself to return more fully to school than just the one class I'm currently taking, hopefully to get to Japan to immerse myself in the language and culture sometime in the next year or so. :) We'll see how it all shapes up.
Currently, I'm more concerned with coming up with the $600 I need to get my car fixed. Blown head gaskets are fun when you're broke and you depend on your car to commute from Brattleboro to Amherst. :P
Wahoo.
I'll probably start writing in here again on a much more regular basis, since the major distraction in my life is currently chasing a redhead on campus. :)
More later...
