I concur with the announcement made by [livejournal.com profile] daobear. I've fallen head-over-heels-and-tumbling-down-the-stairs in love with Henri, which is fabulous and most welcome in my life. I have been extremely grateful for the understanding and support of the other beloveds in my life as I've been stumbling around grinning like an idiot. Patience, too, as I'm sure this is a trifle annoying, if cute.

Please forgive me if this is painful news for absolutely any reason, and I invite you to talk with me about it if you like. I still adore my friends, I still love my beloveds, I am still a part of *your* world, even though I've been vacuumed into another. I'm not really going anywhere, so to speak. If I haven't heard from you in a while, please feel welcomed to get in touch with me.. I miss hearing from many of you..

Going to see Neil Gaiman helped to reintroduce me to the love of my life. I owe Neil a thank-you of some kind someday, perhaps. What a fangirlish thing to say. He hee..

In other news, I spent a highly enjoyable weekend, got to zoom along on the Batman rollercoaster in the dark and ride an enormous ferry wheel in the nearly full moonlight. Good conversations had with J&A, pizza and dancing zombies.
And that was before we even got to the amusement park! *grin*

This week has seen the beginning of my 2 weeks of wearing costumes at work, a tradition in its 5th year for me. Monday's costume was basically me dressed as my mom, circa 1976, in a brownish orange 2-piece polyester dress with an enormous and stylized floral print, and one of her old waist-tied sweaters, that seem to be coming back into fashion. My favorite part of wearing this in the co-op is all the people that tell me it's a great dress and ask me where I got it, instead of assuming it's a 1970s costume. I'm surrounded by hippies and other such nifty people there that I have to go overboard on the makeup and accessories to differentiate myself from what I'd wear normally anyway, or it's not noticed as a costume until they start to get scary or more obviously themed. My attempt at a hippie costume last year, done both because I have my mother's clothing and it's ironically funny, was greeted with the same enthusiasm for my choice of outfit, not authenticity of costume. A differentiation only possible in Brattleboro.

Tuesday's outfit is sort of Renaissance-themed, and I'm still working out the rest of the costumes for this week before the spooky ones start next week.

Since it's much later than I thought it was, I am off to bed now, before the co-op reclaims me for this weeks' installment of the 8-hour long cashiering shift. Thankfully, it's down to one a week, or I'd be much twitchier about it.

Later.
