And so it rains..
May. 2nd, 2002 01:27 pmIt's been raining these past few days here in VT, and for some reason it hasn't been bothering me. I think if I lived outside, I'd be pissed, but I spend the majority of my time at the co-op, or here in front of this computer, that I almost don't notice, excepting when I'm in transit from the apartment to work or to Budo.
Got through another 10 episodes or so of Utena last night.. I'm actually enjoying it. They spend the first 14 episodes in character development, revealing little of the backstory, the Black Rose saga seemed to pick apart at all the flaws in the characters we just got to know, and now they seem to be messing with us in an entirely different way, all the while getting closer to what's really going on. I've got another 4 tapes to get through before I've finished the series.. we'll see what I think at the end.
I'm really enjoying my martial arts class... recovery is a litttle easier each time. I hope this means that I'm getting stronger. My memorization of the kata I'm learning isn't quite up to snuff yet, but I'm not going to rush myself. It will stay with me as I continue to work at it. I'm actually going to be working on the website for the dojo from now on, which is great. It will help get me back into practice and hopefully be something I can add to my portfolio eventually, if Sensei allows me to do a redesign. We'll see.
My own work is still on a bit of a backburner, and this month is shaping up to be a busy one.. I won't be far away from my little schedule book, lest I forget what I'm doing. :)
Time to clean this place and get ready for work. The cycle moves on.
Spring is here, and all the attendant rush in the blood. I hope everyone had a blessed Beltane yesterday. I took some time to meditate on new life while potting two tiny blueberry bushes to keep in front of my steps. Maybe by the end of the summer, I'll have blueberries to put in pancakes or on my cereal. :)
I have a desire to garden, but no space to do it in.. so I'll immprovise and surround myself with potted plants. If nothing else, they'll remind me to take a bit more time to tend to my own inner life, by needing my care and watering in outer life.
Later.
