Here's the promised photo of the bobbins I filled last night. They have since been plied and wound off into skeins, and I'll take a picture after they've been set.

The agni hotra kit arrived, I got everything together for it, and I'm actually looking forward to getting up at sunrise to practice before another day of yoga teacher training.

I found myself almost reveling in the inner struggle in Friday's practice, my muscles have tightened a bit while my knee healed, and my shoulders have been tight from playing harmonium, so there were some moments in practice, especially in long holds of postures, that I really wanted to drop into child's pose, but stayed with it just a breath longer, and I was feeling much better at the end of class. I took care of myself and modified where something might cause pain, but there's a difference between the mild discomfort of a good engaged stretch and something being painful, and I'm glad I kept that in mind and stayed with it.

As part of our training program, in studying the yamas and niyamas, we each picked one as our focus for this month's practice, and I've been working with the quality of surrender (Ishvarapranidhana). It will be interesting to pick a yoga posture for Sunday that I feel embodies that quality. Several spring to mind, with totally different reasons, and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes up when it's my turn.

Looking forward to driving out to Kripalu to see Krishna Das on Saturday evening, glad for the opportunity to attend kirtan and just be there to sing and dance. I love what I do, but the only time I can dance is at someone else's kirtan.

Off to sleep so I can get up again in a few hours..

Later.
