Keith Olbermann's eloquent and empassioned words often move me, and this recent commentary on Prop. 8 is no exception.

The weekend was wonderful, filled with singing kirtan, dancing in the woods with a beloved, playing guitar for the Goddess and dissolving into center.

Work at Webs continues to feel more comfortable as I learn my way around, and I'm looking forward to beginning to teach some spinning classes there in the spring.

Tonight's yoga class at The Yoga Sanctuary in Northampton was a great homework assignment in preparation for this coming weekend of yoga teacher training, which will be challenging and awesome all at once.

Like Sunlight Upon the Earth

I am from you, and at the same time, you have devoured me.
I melt in you since through you I froze.
You squeeze me with your hand,
and then you step on me with your foot.
This is how the grape becomes wine.

You cast us like sunlight upon the earth.
And our light, passing through the body
as if it were an open window to our Source,
returns, purified, to You.

Whoever sees that sun says,
"He is alive,"
and whoever sees only the window says,
"He is dying."

He has veiled our origin in that cup of pain and joy.
Within our core we are pure;
all the rest is dregs.
Source of the soul of souls, Shams, the Truth of Tabriz,
a hundred hearts are afire for you.

This video made me smile and pick up my guitar. Suzanne Sterling, incredible yogini and musician, was featured in the 247 Townhall series: If I Were President.

Tonight's yoga class was accompanied by a wonderful local harp player, and it was lovely to practice in the midst of live music. I'm trying to keep my practice steady to prepare for this weekend's immersion.

I'll be entering a solid week of working, traveling to kirtans and staying with friends starting on Sunday night, and though I know it will be busy, I feel so lucky and blessed to be able to do something I really love so often and to share it with the community.

I'll get some more yarn work done tomorrow.. today was restful and productive, and I'm taking the rest of the evening for study, practice and reflection. Maybe even some writing if the spirit moves me.
