Thoughts..
Jun. 19th, 2008 12:43 amDoes anyone else find the irony of rich, well-educated, white Republican-leaning pundits calling anyone an elitist hilarious?
Aside from the whole pot calling the kettle angle, since when did being intelligent and being able to separate facts and logic from absolute bullshit become a bad thing?
Is anyone actually buying this nonsense, or do other people see the trap this creates for these pundits, the spotlight that shines on their wealth and privilege, the obvious hypocrisy?
Our nation can't be a leader in the global marketplace without first-rate education and cutting edge research, and when all the money gets sent to Iraq instead of funding the future, what do we end up with? A nation of prisons instead of schools and ignorance being praised by a media more interested in profit margins than journalistic integrity.
We can do better than this. We must.
Later.
-Me.
