Mar. 5th, 2007

Today involved getting up late, which was entirely understandable given that I lost track of time completely last night and stayed up until around 4:30 am. Ended up puttering about, making lists, finding lost objects and spinning. We went out for hunan eggplant down the street, which made the tired grad student very happy.

My ancient scanner decided that we didn't need to copy any forms this evening. We could hear it whining, but after much cajoling, reinstalling old drivers and OS 9 software frustration issues, it has been decided that a new scanner is on the list of electronic things to be replaced. This computer is due for a cleaning and servicing, as well.. It's from 2002, so I'm not expecting it to last forever.. just another several years. Especially since this is the last model year that the computer can actually still boot up in OS 9, I want her to last.

As promised, here's my progress report from the world of yarn. Tried a few new color combinations of wool roving out, with varying degrees of success, as you can tell. I like the blue-green skeins to the left and the purple/sandalwood combo on the right end the best, but I'm admittedly biased against pink. It's a redhead thing, I think.

I also spun up an entire bobbin of thin silk last night for my upcoming weaving project. All that's left to get it ready to use is to wind it onto the niddy noddy, set it and get it into a ball again, all without tangling.

Now to get all the stuff I'm mailing out to people tomorrow ready to go, since I know I'm not going to be able to get up early.

Later.
