...and time marches ever onward...
Jun. 30th, 2006 01:41 amJust created a new, specifically public Livejournal so people from the co-op and other aspects of my life can go there for general announcements and updates. Anyone already reading this will not need to friend the new journal, as this is still my main journal, and will continue to be so. I just really wanted to avoid having to go back and lock posts that I didn't necessarily want all my coworkers having access to.
So, this coming week, I'll give out the new LJ address to people at work that want to stay in touch with me after we've moved out to California.
Got to see my sister briefly this afternoon... it was good to catch up, it's been too long. Went out after she left to see Superman Returns with J&A, and April-Lyn met up with us there... sooo good to get to see her, even briefly. The movie was excellent, and reminded me of all the things I really do love about Clark as a character. The film tied into the previous ones in a way that was stand-alone and modern, but still carried the feel and flavor through. I liked the effect, and I want to sit down and watch the old ones again to compare. Striking similarity between Brandon Routh and Christopher Reeve, and the homage paid to Christopher Reeve in dedicating the film to him and his wife was beautiful, and left me sad for his loss all over again.
With a decent Batman film and now the return of Superman, I can only hope that DC will show the same sensitivity for the intelligence of their audience, and respect the history and integrity of the character for the upcoming Wonder Woman movie Joss Whedon is working on. I love Diana too much to watch her essence get mangled by a bad film.
Last night in the deli cafe coming up, and I'll be heading out to Boston after work to spend a low-key weekend with Henri. There's so much we need to discuss and go over, and my lists seem to keep getting longer and longer. *sigh*
I work on Monday, back out to Boston to watch some fireworks on Tuesday, enjoy my last 2 days of work on Wednesday and Thursday, then head for CT to help prepare the house for invasion.
Then I sort, and pack, and fend off insanity until we leave on the 10th of August.
Later.
-Me.
