Ave atque vale...
Apr. 23rd, 2006 01:32 amWent to see V for Vendetta again this afternoon, enthusiastically bringing J&A with me, and I'll admit to being thoroughly tickled pink that they seemed to enjoy it. In seeing it again, and rereading the comic yet again, I'm sort of creating an amalgam in my head of the scenes I liked from the film and my favorite moments from the comic and fusing them into a singularly gorgeous story. I'm following a known old pattern of mine, getting really into something for a time and assimilating it with the pile of poetry and stories in my head. Nice that the variety in the versions of this tale allows me to vacillate back and forth between the patterns they reveal. Romance is worth reveling in, on occasion. *grin*
Enough alliterative allusions already.
I ganked this from Grant, but it's worth checking out, very well written.
The Worst President in History
Times like this make me miss the anarchic little pirate radio show Jesse and I did in Brattleboro for about half a year, Insurrection Radio. My intensity has paled a bit, as I've been focused on work and survival matters for a while now, and it's so inspiring to dive back into some of the ideas we argued about passionately that summer. Even sweeter to get the opportunity to share some of it with my beloveds, even in the form of popular entertainment, as hope for a better world seems to be so vital to keeping our spirits up these days. We can create the world we seek. I truly believe this. All we have to do is live in love, caring for each other as for ourselves.
Remember, ideas are bulletproof.
Later.
-Me.
