Quiet and pleasant birthday..
Feb. 1st, 2006 04:43 pmDrove out to Cambridge last night after hanging out in Northampton, made it safely despite the weather not really being able to choose between sleet or snow. I arrived around 3:30 in the morning, and was out as soon as my head hit the pillow. Slept late, luxuriating in the ability to roll over, pull the blankets up further around my shoulders and burrow back into the pillow for more sleep. Went out to the co-op for some lunch, and settled in back here with some tasty goat cheese, a small salad and some mashed potatoes. I'll save the blood orange for later.
My beloved just walked in the door from work early, a most pleasant and welcome surprise. I think we're likely to hang out here a while, have dinner at a veg restaraunt somewhere, then come back here for champagne and a game of Vampire: The Eternal Struggle.
My thanks to the awesome friends who have sent their greetings and well wishes today, and I'm glad I took the day for myself, as I usually try to do.
I'll work tomorrow and Friday, then head to CT for an evening with friends at my parents' house on Saturday, and back to work on Sunday.
Blessings to you on this night of Imbolc, and may the growing light illuminate inner pathways for you as the spring approaches.
Later.
-Me.
