On the road to recovery and work...
Jan. 13th, 2006 12:43 pmAllison came and took me to the hospital on Wednesday evening, after I'd spent most of the day in bed, feverish and barely conscious. It took forever, like 4 hours, to get seen, as they were really busy, but they did a set of chest x-rays to get an idea of what condition my lungs were in, and they looked alright, so we ruled out pneumonia, and they did a flu test to make sure it wasn't a viral infection that would have to just run its course, which also came back negative. So, on antibiotics again for another sinus infection/bronchitis episode... they get worse and worse every time, and it's a pattern I'm reallly sick of. Excuse the weak pun.
Between the fever keeping me in bed on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the meds making me loopy on Thursday, this entire week is one uncomfortable blur. I did get caught up on some Sluggy Freelance comics while conscious yesterday, and last night I was doing much better, in that I could waddle around, make myself tea again and eat something. It would have been really nice to have the time to actually accomplish things I've needed to get done.. but noooo.. I have to be delirious and completely useless. *sigh* My immense thanks to J and A for helping me out so much, bringing me to the ER, since I couldn't drive myself and I wasn't about to take another ambulance, considering what the last one cost, and going to get my car and feed the birds for me last night, since I was still so damn frail.
I'm still really sore and achy from the coughing and stuff, but I'm at least feeling a bit more like myself, and able to stand without wooziness. My voice is still kind of deep and gravelly, and I'll be taking it easy on myself at work tonight.. hopefully the cafe will be moderately busy.. enough to justify my being there, but not enough to completely exhaust me.
After work, I'll come down and meet up with my beloveds in Noho, and hang out for a bit before taking H to CT to visit with friends and family on Saturday. I'll work on Sunday, then get the added bonus of another evening with my love, as he's got Monday off, and I don't work until the afternoon. Yaaay!
Time to go scavenge some clean clothes out of my car, get some food in me, and head home to feed my feathery ones before work.
