Oct. 2nd, 2005 12:58 amI really did not want to get out of bed this morning. Well.. my mind was okay with the concept of leaving my bed, somewhat.. but my body disagreed with me completely. Snuggled in for a little while, then went about the day.
Got down to CT and hung out with Gramma and my aunts and uncles. My aunt Shirley put all the photos and report cards and stuff that Gramma had been saving from their childhoods into albums, one for each of them. Really neat to see all of that material.. my mom had a few booklets in her album of newspaper clippings that she cut out as a kid in the early 60s.. there were clippings from the Gemini space flights, Lyndon Johnson, even a picture from the Quabbin reservoir area when there was a drought, and the water receded enough that from the air you could see the streets and foundations from the town that had been there prior to the flooding of the area for the reservoir. The librarian in me was bouncy.
Came back to the house and put my dad to bed, as he hurt his back this morning pretty badly trying to lift a water heater with a friend. Visited for an hour or so at Buried Under, got my Strangers In Paradise fix, got to see Scott, Brian, Karl and Mark and perused what's out in recent comics... as usual, I'd just like to camp out in there for a few days and read. Went over to Ted's Montana Grill to visit my sister at work, stood at the bar for a while and had a tasty mushroom and cheddar veggie burger. The place was packed, with almost a 2-hour wait for a table. Headed back to the house around 9, went up to my room to lay down for a bit, and promptly fell asleep until Morgan got home around 11:30. I guess I needed a nap.
Hung out for a little while, and she's gone to bed already... so, here I sit, updating before I too, head back upstairs and land in a pile of blankets with the cat.
I'll run errands and stuff tomorrow before heading to work in Vermont.. I have a surprise to deliver to Northampton that I hope will go over extremely well. *grin*
Later.
-Me.
