1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fourth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the "coolest" book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

"One of the gravestones flipped over, revealing a grasping corpse; a headstone turned around, flowers replaced by a grinning skull." - American Gods, by Neil Gaiman.

It was just slightly closer to me than one of my Rumi books. :)

A few things before I turn around and head for the lands of sleep.. or a few more chapters in the book I started working on randomly.. here are a few links.

Steve Bissette's Blog. Some further information, musings and notes on the 24-Hour Comic Book Challenge, as well as various other projects.. and just because Steve is cool.

Have a battle plan. Life After the Oil Crash. This site may seem alarmist, and in the meanwhile I'm sure we will all continue with our lives as usual.. but think about it, and take the possibility very seriously, as gas prices continue to rise. Be armed with information. Know where you will acquire food and clean water. Simple things will be very valuable in a crisis situation of any kind, so it's always good to know how to take care of yourself.. heck, you'll have some kind of peace of mind knowing that if the proverbial shit hits the fan, you will know how to provide the necessities for yourself and your family. Tom Brown has some excellent survival guides out there for the interested woods enthusiast. Just some thoughts. Take or leave as you will.

The anti-civ. part of me wants to link to Green Anarchy. So there. If you are wondering what on earth this is, please go to the "about GA" section and read the Basics primers.. they're very well written, and excellent for spawning awesome philosophical discussions.

There's other stuff in my head, but nothing I could follow with that would make sense, so I'll leave these random intensities for your consideration and go back to my regularly scheduled insanity.

Later.

-Me.
