I had the pleasure of talking and laughing with my friend John from Australia this evening, which has put me in a great bouncy mood.... only, Henri is studying, so I have to be quiet about it until he finishes the paper he's reading. (Tee hee.)

Nice to be able to post something upbeat, honestly. It's been off and on again around here with me. I've also had good chats recently with my dad and my sister, who I hope will come visit us at some point. Just discovered that I can take a train back to the east coast if I need to in the future... even though it takes several days, it costs significantly less money.

As it slowly gets a little warmer, I've been out on the porch more getting fresh air and afternoon light. I've filled almost all the spare terra cotta pots with soil and planted seeds again today, and if things germinate properly, we'll have a lovely patio container vegetable and herb garden. As I was outside working this afternoon, watering freshly planted seeds, the birds decided that they really didn't mind my presence one bit, and darted to the feeder all around me, and even came down into the patio to snack on seeds near my feet. I get the feeling that if I sat very still with seeds in my hands, I'd get sparrows and chickadees landing on my fingertips. They would still dart off when Henri came to the door, which he saw as evidence of my bird powers or something. Who knows, perhaps they can tell that I miss my own babies. Either way, the sound of wings fluttering around me contains quiet healing joy I won't argue with.

We're expecting various visitors in the next few weeks, which should be cool. I haven't seen Weird Pete since before he left to move to Texas several years back.

I'm also going to try to get over to the studio first thing on Monday afternoon to get started on my next weaving project, which I still have to get a bit of spinning done for.. thankfully, it will probably take me 2-4 days to finalise the project idea with Hannelore and get the warp wound onto the loom, and that should leave me enough time to spin up the silk at night before I'll need it all to weave with.

Now to devour the last quarter of the banana cream pie. Yarn progress report tomorrow.

Later.
